About Us
Affiliation
First Alliance Church is a church of the Christian
and Missionary Alliance, an alliance of evangelical believers, joined
together in local churches and dedicated to fulfilling the Great
Commission given by Jesus Christ. The Christian and Missionary Alliance
exists to know Jesus Christ; exalt Him as Savior, Sanctifier, Healer,
and Coming King; and complete his Great Commission. The vision of the
Christian and Missionary Alliance is that it will be a movement of Great
Commission Christians who are glorifying God by building Christ's church
worldwide.
Mission
The heart of our mission as a church
is expressed in the acrostic L.O.V.E. Love is the glue of the church.
The Bible says, "The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself
through love" (Galatians 5:6); and "And now these three remain:
faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love. Follow the way
of love…" (1 Corinthians 13:13–14:1); and "And over all
these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect
unity" (Colossians 3:14). Love is the great commandment (Matthew
22:36–39), Christian life in action (John 13:35), and the essence of
God's nature (1 John 4:7,8).
Our mission statement is "We exist
to Love God by Obeying God's word and
Volunteering as servants to Embrace the world with his gospel."
Sunday Services
Whether you prefer the traditional or
contemporary, come however you feel most comfortable. The traditional service time is from 9:00–10:00 a.m. and the
contemporary service time is from 10:30–11:45 a.m. You can
visit and have refreshments during the half-hour fellowship time at
10:00 a.m. A traditional Sunday evening gathering is an opportunity for
hymns, Bible study, testimonies, and fellowship.
Worship
Jesus said, "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true
worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the
kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers
must worship in spirit and in truth" (John 4:23,24). A pure, holy,
spiritual worship is the offering of the soul, not just the body; the
offering of the heart, not just the lips. Worship in truth is worship
with a full recognition of who Jesus Christ is and what he has done for
us. If we worship in spirit and in truth, our worship is completely
about God and absolutely not about us. Worship goes beyond music and the singing
of songs to the offering of our whole selves as living sacrifices to God
(Romans 12:1). When our lives are given completely to God, everything we
do can be an act of worship. |
