Heart to Heart
Everyone can see that this isn’t your typical winter. The temperatures have been unusually warm here in Billings, plus there have been significant wind storms vs snow storms. There’s no doubt when the wind is moving with great power, as semi trucks & trailers are blown off the highway, and hurricane-force winds cause mature trees to come crashing down.
In Acts 2, the outpouring of God’s Spirit was accompanied by wind & fire. When Peter spoke to the crowds, he referenced Joel 2, who prophesied that God’s Spirit would come upon both the young and the old, who would see visions from God with new eyes, and dream dreams of what God was about to do. Moreover, the outpouring of God’s Spirit supplied the supernatural strength that caused the church to grow deeper & wider as it spread across the Roman empire.
Beloved, we live in a time when there’s a great need for a fresh outpouring of Holy Spirit wind & fire. The fulness of God’s Spirit is promised to all who are “wholeheartedly devoted”, and fully consecrated to Jesus. Would you join Diana and I as we cry out, “Lord Jesus, by your Spirit, reawaken within each of us a desire to know You more deeply, to see people with Your eyes, to obey Your words, and to move mountains by faith, as we do our part in taking all of Christ to all the world.”
That’s a dangerous prayer to pray because your life will never be the same (in a good way). “The world has yet to see what God can do with a person fully consecrated to Him” - D.L. Moody. May we determine to be those people in this generation, just like Simeon & Anna (Luke 2) along with Peter & Paul were in their generation – laboring to proclaim Him, to the last unreached peoples of our world.
Pressing Onward & upward, for His glory (Phil.3:14),
